About the YSM

The Young Statisticians’ Meeting (YSM) is an annual conference for Statisticians in the first 10 years of their statistical career, or currently studying for a PhD, MSc or BSc in statistics or a subject with statistical content.

The two day event is an excellent opportunity for students and early-career statisticians to exhibit their work, discuss ideas and network with their peers in a friendly and encouraging environment. The conference features lectures from internationally renowned speakers, delegate presentations, a poster session and an evening social event.

In addition to the main conference YSM 2019 also hosted a half-day pre-conference course on the afternoon of 30th July 2019: Using simulation studies to evaluate statistical methods (Dr Michael Crowther and Dr Tim Morris).

The 2019 45th YSM was held in Leeds, UK, and was organised by a group of staff working at Leeds Clinical Trials Research Unit, within the University of Leeds.
