Conference details and important information

On arrival, delegates should make their way to the airport lounge on level 7 of the Worsley building. From the Clarendon Way entrance (pictured left), delegates can use the double lifts positioned opposite the entrance, slightly to the left, or the stairs immediately opposite the double lifts to get to level 7. Then, turn left as you exit the lifts to reach the airport lounge. There is also an entrance on level 7 which can be accessed on campus from Chancellors Court that leads directly to the airport lounge.

Travelling to the University of Leeds

Leeds is central to the UK and is easily accessible by public transport.

By Train

Leeds has a major train station with frequent, direct links to London, Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester and Edinburgh and other local and wider links across the UK including to local cities; Sheffield, Bradford and York. The University is approximately a 20 minute walk from the train station, or delegates can take Leeds CityBus service (costs £1) just outside the train station (the train station is stop 4 on the CityBus route map and the University of Leeds is stop 11, please see https://www.wymetro.com/buses/leeds-citybus/ for more detailed information), otherwise a taxi is approximately £4-5. An Uber service is also available in and around the city centre.

By Car

Delegates are encouraged to use public transport where possible. However, if you are driving and using satellite navigation our address details for the main entrance to the University site are: University of Leeds, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds, LS2 9JT (Street listing can appear as Cavendish Road in some navigation systems).

Leeds is linked to the M1 and M62. The nearest public car park is the Woodhouse Lane car park but this can become full during the day. Meals

Lunch will be provided during the day. Drinks, including tea and coffee, will be provided at the designated break times. If you have any queries about any aspect of the catering please speak to any member of the conference team.

For those attending the conference dinner, this will be held at University House on the evening of 31st July 2019.

For those with accommodation booked, breakfast is included and will be served between 08:00 and 09:00 in the Refectory.

Trinity is a large indoor shopping centre located in the centre of Leeds. Briggate, Albion Street and Commercial Street are where the majority of the high street stores, coffee shops and pharmacies are based. The Corn Exchange and the arcades (Thornton’s and Grand) host a range of independent stores. Kirkgate Market provides a range of traditional market stalls, butchers and grocers.

The Edge

For those staying at Storm Jameson court, access to the pool and gym facilities at The Edge is free. Alternatively, visitors can purchase a £10 day pass from the reception area which gives access to the swimming pool, sauna, steam room, fitness suite and exercise classes. Please note that you will be required to swap some valid photo ID for a day access card and complete a short ‘Health PAR-Q’ form before using the fitness suite.
